This book is a photographic typology that captures the pattern and design I find so intriguing on the casings of classic arcade games. This selection of pages showcases some of the forty-plus images that can be seen inside of the book. Contact me to purchase one for $30 plus shipping.
Hip-hop is a tough game in which only the best survive. From the early days of the male-dominated genre, female rappers have proved that women, though few in numbers, are fearless, strong especially when unified and are not only capable of standing as tall as the next man but also of outshining them. In celebration of Women’s History Month, this 4x6 inch daily flip calendar condenses Billboard.com’s series of web articles, Ladies First: 31 Female Rappers Who Changed Hip-Hop, into daily doses of information. The selected pages show the design system that continues throughout the front pages and patterned backs of the calendar.
This photographic series connects the individual to such universal experiences as time, longing, loss and remembering. The images I’ve created are vignettes of what is left of my grandparent’s rural home, which was deserted following their deaths. The photos subsume the destructive nature of abandonment, evoking reflection on what used to be and what could have been while simultaneously conveying the peace I have found in what is. This work began as a challenge to connect with a memory, a lost opportunity, a piece of myself. It blossomed into a relationship with the beauty of deterioration and acceptance of the inevitability of time.
The practice of mindfulness cultivates gratitude for life's small delights. The Mindfulness Through The Senses Kit was created to provide parents and teachers with a fun, easy, and accessible way to teach this tool to youth of all ages (and maybe learn a thing or two themselves!). The kit comes ready to cut out and includes: 1) An instructional poster with tips for each sense. 2) A visual poster to use as an aid to teach younger children or pure aesthetics 3) Twenty-four Sense Cards, 4) A box to store the cards. Use it at home or in the classroom to start a discussion, as an alternative to a traditional time-out, as a fun game, or in a number of other ways to master mindfulness.
